What’s Kernel?

Kernel is subnet 99 on the Bittensor blockchain serving orchestrating the training of large-scale machine learning models both decentralized and confidentially. ‘Miners’ provide …. (to be elaborated)

By enforcing network participants to use trusted execution environments (TEE) on Nvidia GPUs, Kernel guarantees a secure, non-tamperable environment for computation. This enables enterprises to request training of proprietary models that are fully encrypted, thus keeping model coefficients private.

Kernel’s use of TEE also enables model training data to be used whilst fully encrypted. Because only the TEE within the GPUs will be able to decrypt and compute on the data, no attacker will be able to extract confidential training data.

Kernel is a subnet on the Bittensor blockchain, which brings an incentive structure that optimizes resources and dynamic scaling. Additionally, by distributing tasks across numerous miners, Kernel can handle large-scale computations that would be impractical on a centralized machines.
